Company Secretary/ Legal Adviser
Carol George joined Veritas Glanvills Pensions Limited as Company Secretary and Legal Adviser in May, 2018 following approval of the National Pension Commission.
Prior to joining VG, Carol worked with Union Bank of Nigeria Plc from 2012, where she was in charge of the company secretariat of UBN Property Co. Plc and the Statutory Audit Committee. During this time, she was also seconded to Union Homes Savings and Loans Plc as acting company secretary, a position she held for two years. Carol was also company secretary of Saffer Union West Africa Limited, and the Union Homes Real Estate Investment Trust.
Prior to joining the UBN Group, Carol spent 8 years in the practice of law, part of which was as an associate at Odujinrin and Adefulu, a full service Nigerian commercial law firm, where she practiced in the corporate commercial, capital market, banking and maritime groups. She was also the team lead of the company secretarial unit.
Carol has mapped out a career in general corporate commercial law, real estate, banking law, corporate governance and company law. Over the years, she has developed vast experience as a liaison between corporate entities and their respective regulatory authorities. She is a company secretary with keen interests in team building, human resource management, mentoring, corporate governance and compliance.
She attended Queens College, Lagos and thereafter obtained an LL.B (2:1Hons) from the University of Ibadan in 2002. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2004 and is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
